About Me

I always love getting to know the author of my favorite blogs + small businesses so I will try my best to tell you my story.  If you feel there are is something missing you’d love to know about me, please feel free to ask in the comments + I’ll be happy to update this page.  (I’ll send you an email to answer your question(s), too).  🙂

It All Began…

I was first introduced to crochet from my grandmother when I was 7 years old.  My father & mother both helped to encourage my education + interest in the craft.

When I was 14 I had grown bored of crochet and begged my father’s sister to teach me to knit.  She gave me one lesson (all the time we had) and I started a knit-2-purl-2 scarf to teach myself by repetition.  Later, I consulted a library book on how best to cast off and cast on a new scarf.

I only learned to read a [crochet] pattern at age 22, so I’ve had a lot of time to develop my own patterns through problem solving and “sculpting”.  I love looking at a picture & breaking it down in my head in order to construct a similar project through trial + error.  I like to keep notes for future crafting or to share with other like-minded friends; thus this blog for all those notes & little snippets.

I love this creative process, along with collaboration, so if you have something in mind you’d like to see, feel free to message me; you just might be the next inspiration!

Knitting + crocheting is such an addicting habit!  I love having an etsy shop as my outlet + I hope to one day make a modest income from it.  You can check out all my latest items here: knittedhome.etsy.com.

Most days you’ll find a skein of yarn with a half-finished project sitting on the arm of the couch next to a (hopefully) hot cup of coffee on my mug warmer on the end table.  If I’m lucky, I’ll be working on this project during beloved nap times while catching up on my favorite bloggers’ podcasts, youtube videos, and blog posts.

You can find me on Instagram + Etsy + Facebook + Twitter + Pinterest + Ravelry + any other site by searching @knittedhome.

Thank you for supporting Handmade 🙂
